Some pretty decent moves have occured today with with NHL deadline. I have heard the likes of Biron, Guerin, Roberts, Laroque have been moved and that even a guy like Jagr is available for the right price today (back to Pittsburgh?)
Update: Wow, The Edmonton Oilers have traded their pride and joy Ryan Smyth to the New York Islanders. To be honest I think it is a great trade for both teams, the Oil has no chance in the playoffs this year and they picked up alot of youth by dumping Smyth. It was rumoured Smyth wanted a 5 year 25 million dollar contract...thanks but no thanks Ryan.
Update #2: Well lots of ativity today, I would have to say that the biggest deal was that of Ryan Smyth to the Islanders followed closely by the Guerin deal to the Sharks.
It is really shaping up to be one hell of a fight in the West and looks like the Sabres and Sens are the likely candidates to represent the East this year and hoist Lord Stanleys Cup!
Anyways here is another blog that is outstanding today, Jay Onrait's TradeCenter blog over at www.tsn.ca

Darren Dreger: "The Tkachuk deal to Atlanta sets the benchmark for Bill Guerin's price as the deadline draws near. No doubt the Blues are seeking a premium price." |
Bob McKenzie: "We're not sure what to make of the Montreal Canadiens right now...they're a team on the playoff cusp and Bob Gainey's a tough guy to read. Craig Rivet has struggled defensively this season and the Sharks hope a move to a contender in the West will elevate his game." |
